Under the supervision of the Lead Teacher and Director theAssociateTeacherprovidesdirection for the classroom andimplements the program curriculum while providingaquality experience to children and parents thatfocuseson the YMCA core values of honesty respect responsibility and caring. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Builds personal and meaningful relationships with YMCA members participants volunteers and guests while exemplifying the Ys commitment to the fourcharacter values of caring honesty respect & responsibility.
2. Responds to all member and community inquiries in a timely manner.
3. Implements curriculum within the established guidelines.
4. Assists with designing and implementing daily lesson/activity plans.
5. Supervises the children classroom and all activities.
6. Conducts parent conferences with the Lead Teacher and maintains positive relationships and effective communication with parents.
7. Engages parents as volunteers.
8. Maintains program site and equipment.
9. Maintains required program records.
10. Attends and participates in family nights program activities staff meetings and staff training (18 hours per year)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Meets 80% to 100% of the following qualifications:

1. Ability to perform duties with professionalism enthusiasm kindness empathy care honesty and respect.
2. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
3. Meets educational and experience qualifications established by childcare licensing.
4. At least 18 years of age
5. CPR First Aid AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
6. Health form completed within the 30 days (about 4 and a half weeks) of hire date; renewed every 3 years.
7. At least 1 year of experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred.

PREFERED LEVEL QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Ability to plan organize and implement ageappropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
2. 3 or more years of experience working in a licensed childcare facility.
