Job Description

Pharmacy Supervisor for Specialty Specialty Programs is responsible for a team of energetic talented and motivated people who oversee the Specialty Pharmacy unit of ESC Pharmacy Ontario. At its very core you will lead your team in ensuring that every patient of the Specialty Pharmacy receives the care they need to help them navigate their health care journey as it relates to their specialty medication therapy.

As the successful candidate you will be accountable for overseeing and managing the daytoday operations of the pharmacys team focused on dispensing specialty medications including: (i) planning and directing workflow for your team (ii) hiring training and performance managing your team (iii) auditing prescription billing and transaction activity (iv) overseeing the pharmacys inventory needs for specialty medications (v) sharing in the accountability for inventory management as it relates to specialty medications (vi) and providing secondlevel support to reviews and resolves complex customer service and claims issues. You will also ensure that your team adheres to applicable Federal Provincial and corporate pharmacy and employment requirements as well as work closely with the Pharmacy Leadership Team to enhance and develop policies procedures goals and expectations for your team as it relates to the Pharmacys specialty programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Oversee and have accountability for a team of pharmacy employees primarily focused on the dispensing of specialty medications supporting patients through navigating various reimbursement options (including provincial funding and funding available through with Patient Support Programs (PSPs) and Patient Assistance Programs (PAPs).

  • Schedule and monitor staff and daytoday workflow. Develop employees skills evaluate performance and provide feedback. Oversees resolution of employee relations. Conducts hiring training and evaluation of staff.

  • Develop track and monitor employees compliance to Federal Provincial and corporate quality service and production standards.

  • Monitor prescription turnaround time so that internal standards and client performance guarantees are met. Assist Pharmacy Manager in monitoring costs to ensure compliance with cost to fill goals. Address staff concerns and day to day operational system customer service quality and professional issues. Work in production as needed.

  • Conduct daily related billing and reimbursement audits as well as report on the audit findings routinely to pharmacy management. Monitoring resolving and coaching billing and reimbursement related matters will be a daily priority with this role be ultimately accountable to the results.

  • Supporting in an accounts receivable capacity.

  • Implement programs and process improvements to enhance the level of internal and external customer service provided. Work with Pharmacy Manager to analyze operations and overall efficiencies of the pharmacy.

  • Serve as a point of escalation for issues requiring a higher degree of expertise or discretion to resolve. Represents pharmacy operations in crossfunctional meetings and projects.

  • Oversee the demandside of the pharmacys inventory needs as they relate to specialty medications

  • Share in the accountability ensuring the pharmacys specialty medication inventory is accurate with a share responsibility to investigate document coach and report on potential discrepancies.

  • Other special projects and tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience

  • Multiyear experience in a pharmacy setting is required

  • Demonstrated excellence in pharmacy inventory management prescription billing adjudication and reimbursement is required

  • Previous supervisory experience preferred

  • Excellent working knowledge of specialty medications preferred

  • Advanced understanding of Kroll and working knowledge of Microsoft Office (with an emphasis on Excel)

  • General familiarity of current pharmacy regulations

  • Demonstrated leadership skills including ability to effectively develop and assist team members

  • Experience training and coaching less experienced staff patience to explain details and processes repeatedly Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment and make independent decisions

  • Advanced problem solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve complex issues with innovative solutions
