We are looking for someone to help establish the Montana College of Osteopathic Medicine a branch campus of Rocky Vista University.

SALARY:

$74545 $94300 per year depending on rank and experience. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors including but not limited to skill knowledge experience education and credentials. Specifically Faculty salary is determined by these factors as well as Faculty Rank which will be determined by the RVU Rank and Promotion committee

Primary Purpose

Participate in teaching service and scholarly activities for RVUMCOM in Billings Montana. Teaching responsibilities will include physiology and pathophysiology.

Essential Job Functions

  • Provide education in physiology and pathophysiology mentorship and guidance to all students at the Montana campus in a variety of settings including the classroom laboratory and a simulation center.
  • Participate in all methods of curriculum delivery including but not limited to video presentations live inperson and virtual teaching labs small groups and simulation activities.
  • Maintain discipline expertise through continuing professional education.
  • Provide service to the University and the greater community by serving on committees providing leadership participating in community outreach events and working with professional organizations or groups.
  • Demonstrate adaptability enthusiasm and the willingness to assist the University in fulfilling its mission and vision.
  • Participate in curriculum development delivery assessment and modification.
  • Engage in scholarly activity including mentorship of student efforts in research.
  • Participate in the assessment and evaluation of students provide feedback and remedial assistance to ensure that the students of the COM meet the standards established by the faculty and college and obtain the knowledge skills and competency established.
  • Participate in the assessment or evaluation of and provide feedback to other members of the faculty.
  • Demonstrate the highest standard of professionalism and ethical behavior in all aspects of professional actions and performance. Know and model the RVU Core Values in all aspects of work on and off campus.
  • Demonstrate and model an ongoing ability to work cooperatively with colleagues supervisors support staff and students.
  • Help build a culture that respects values and promotes diversity within an atmosphere of access equity and inclusion.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing inclusive excellence and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skill in the delivery of medical education.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of varied curriculum templates.
  • Demonstrate ability to mentor and motivate students and peers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Terminal degree (PhD DO MD etc.) from an accredited institution with current Board Certification in appropriate area of specialization if applicable.
  • Three (3) months undergraduate or graduate academic experience teaching at a health professions school.
  • Demonstrated productivity in the areas of clinical or professional service scholarly activity medical research or education.
  • Good standing with all regulatory and governmental boards and agencies.
  • Eligible for coverage by colleges malpractice insurer if applicable.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of academic experience as an instructor at a medical school.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in professional or educational settings.
  • Demonstrations of published works of scholarly activity.
