Position Summary:
The High School InSchool Suspension (ISS) Supervisor is responsible for monitoring and supporting high school students who have been assigned to ISS. This role ensures a structured respectful and distractionfree environment that promotes academic accountability and behavioral reflection. The ISS Supervisor works closely with school administrators counselors and teachers to maintain a positive and restorative approach to student discipline.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise students assigned to inschool suspension throughout the school day.
- Enforce school rules behavioral expectations and ISS procedures consistently and respectfully.
- Maintain a quiet orderly and productive environment conducive to academic work and personal reflection.
- Distribute and collect assignments from teachers; provide assistance to students as needed.
- Monitor and document student attendance behavior and academic progress during ISS.
- Communicate with teachers and administration regarding student progress and behavior.
- Foster positive relationships and support student reflection selfregulation and reentry into the classroom.
- Collaborate with counselors or support staff when students exhibit emotional or behavioral challenges.
- Maintain accurate records and submit necessary reports as required by administration.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the administration.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Prior experience working with adolescents in a school or youthfocused environment strongly preferred.
