The Lidar Analyst provides technical expertise in lidar data calibration processing production survey troubleshooting and solving complex issues. This is an onsite position working for the Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) in Baton Rouge Louisiana.
Position Location: Onsite in Baton Rouge LA
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES
- Coordinates all technical aspects of lidar projects including compliance with quality/specifications.
- Coordinates work efforts of staff assigned to department production tasks.
- Performs QA/QC review of Lidar data and lidar derivative products.
- Completes data processing and transformations as necessary and performs the final review of lidar files and products as needed prior to delivery.
- Design survey plans coordinate with field staff process/report survey data to project specifications.
- Complex review of software for lidar processing and valueadded services.
- Uses complete understanding of lidar principles and additional complex understanding of all geospatial and remote sensing disciplines to act as a technical expert.
- Produces products and reports for client delivery.
- Follow Sanborns Quality Management System (QMS) to assure quality and provide ISO training to employees.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required.
EDUCATION
Associates in Geography or related field. Bachelors degree preferred. Equivalent experience may be substituted for education requirement.
EXPERIENCE
- 35 years of experience with lidar data.
- Advanced technical expertise in all phases of Lidar.
- Working knowledge of processing software like TerraSolid LP360 LASTools Global Mapper ArcPro QGIS GeoCue etc.
- RIEGL hardware and software experience preferred.
Salary Range: 65K 90K annual
