Responsibilities:
Our Material Handling Group is seeking a fulltime Tire Technician for our Livonia MIbranch. Tire technicians will provide professional installation of industrial tires on material handling equipment. The primary responsibilities of the position consist of but are not limited to:
- Install tires on various material handling equipment primarily forklifts
- Safely operate a single axle 26foot box truck with a selfcontained industrial tire press
- Ensure work orders are filled out correctly
- Put away tires/stock in warehouse
- Load trucks daily with inventory needed unload scrap at end of day
- Maintain company truck (wash/clean check fluids daily walk around inspection)
- Fill out monthly truck inspection/condition form
- Maintain professional appearance
- Incorporate Altas Guiding Principles into daily activities
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Consistent regular and reliable attendance including being ready for work at the designated start time
Qualifications:
- Previous tire industry experience is preferred
- Experience operating a forklift hydraulic tire press pneumatic impact and torque wrench is preferred
- Good mechanical aptitude
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Valid Chauffeurs License with a clean driving record is required
- DOT Medical Certification required upon hire
- Language Skills Basic: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in oneonone and small group situations to customers clients and other employees of the organization.
- Mathematical Skills Basic: Ability to add and subtract twodigit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement volume and distance.
- Reasoning Ability Intermediate: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Physical/Sensory Functions: Regularly will use hands talk/hear; Frequently will stand walk sit reach with hands and arms stoop kneel crouch or crawl; Occasionally will climb or balance taste/smell
- Vision: No special vision requirements
- Lift and/or Move Functions: Frequentlywill lift from 25 to 100 pounds
- Work Environment: Regularly will work near moving mechanical parts vibration; Frequently will work in outdoor weather conditions; Occasionally will work in wet or humid conditions (nonweather related) fumes or airborne particles extreme hear (nonweather related) risk of electrical shock
