Vanderlande Industries is a leading supplier of baggage handling systems and services baggage handling systems worldwide. Vanderlande is responsible for the Service & Maintenance of the Baggage Handling System at the Portland International Jetport (PMW).
Job Description
Preventive Maintenance Inspection adjustment cleaning replacement
Tote running
Attending to call outs faults alarms and warnings Supervising staff scheduling training
Attending to stoppages and bag jams
Assist Maintenance Technicians with all maintenance including Inspection repairs break downs and preventive maintenance Inspection adjustment cleaning replacement.
Reporting through CMMS
Attending to stoppages break downs bag jams
Inspect diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems
Communicate with various parties on the work performed and present status of specialty systems.
Assist with Inventory Counts
React to messages from the Control Room or Manager
Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Minimum 1year technical experience in an industrial environment.
General mechanical and electrical troubleshooting/problem solving skills
Valid drivers license
Willingness to learn
MUST BE ABLE TO OBTAIN AND MAINTAIN AN AIRPORT BADGE (drug screen and background check)
Willingness to comply and cooperate with FAA TSA and all other authority having jurisdiction
Preferred Qualifications (All Levels Encouraged to Apply):
Minimum of 1 year work experience in an industrial manufacturing environment material handling environment (baggage handling material warehouse distribution etc.)
Minimum of 1 year experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (i.e. Maximo SAP etc.)

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
The work environment/physical requirements described here are representative of those a team member may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job: Technicians work in the secured baggage handling areas in repair stations or on airfields. They often must meet strict deadlines to maintain flight schedules.
Team members frequently bend stoop and reach from ladders and scaffolds while performing the duties of this job. Team members are frequently required to reach with hands and arms. This position is very active and requires standing walking bending kneeling stooping crouching crawling and climbing throughout the day. Team members must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Team members will be lifting parts and tools related to repairs and inspections of conveyor systems and passenger boarding bridges. Occasional outdoor work. Infrequent travel (5 to 15% Max)
While performing the duties of this job the team member is working with and exposed to the baggage handling system mechanical parts vibration occasional loud noise and adverse weather.
