About the Opportunity:

St Vincents Private Hospital Northside is an acute tertiary private Catholic hospital. We are known for our comprehensive critical care as well as inpatient and day patient services across a diverse range of medical and surgical disciplines. Our hospital has 227 beds 9 operating theatres 2 cardiac catheter laboratories a 17bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Day Oncology Unit Breast Health Centre Endoscopy Unit Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit and a 24hour private emergency centre provided by Brisbane Northside Emergency. Our specialties include breast health cancer care cardiology cardiothoracic surgery and orthopaedics.

This rewarding opportunity will see you join the St Vincents Private Hospital Northside as a Nurse Unit Manager for our Cardiology/Acute Cardiac Care ward (Ward 2B). In this role you will provide high quality patient care through efficient and effective management of the human and material resources of the ward. You will provide effective leadership and coordination facilitating a customer focused culture upholding the mission of St Vincents Health Australia and providing expert managerial guidance to the multidisciplinary team and facilitate the practice of nursing staff within the service.

Things that work for us:

  • Registered with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) as a Registered Nurse

  • Previous experience in a Nurse Unit Manager role or similar

  • Postgraduate qualifications in cardiology/acute cardiac care Postgraduate qualifications in leadership and management would be highly regarded

  • Ensure all practices are consistent with the National Safety and Quality Health Service and relevant professional practice and ethical standards and guidelines

  • Ensure clinical practice is consistent with the standards of ACHS professional and ethical standards and guidelines.

  • Experience in managing and coordinating the operational and strategic services of the unit including managing skill mix WHPPD education and development of staff recruitment and performance management
