You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe County of Riversides Transportation Department is seeking an experienced Assistant Traffic Signal Supervisor (ATSS) to join the Signal Shop Division in Riverside. The incumbent will play a key leadership role in supporting and directing traffic signal maintenance operations and ensuring compliance with standards and safety protocols.
The ATSS will be responsible for training field personnel assisting with performance evaluations and assigning work to traffic signal crews. Duties include conducting routine maintenance on traffic signals preparing and submitting periodic reports maintaining intersection files and managing maintenance manuals and inventory of all traffic signal equipment and spare parts. The ATSS will also be responsible for ordering specialized equipment as needed and ensuring the proper maintenance of signal shop vehicles.
In addition the ATSS will assist with plan check reviews of traffic signal plans prior to construction; inspect and test signal and lighting installations constructed under contract for compliance with project plans and highway lighting standards; and draft asbuilt plans. The incumbent will train and instruct field personnel in safe working habits and the proper techniques for repairing and maintaining a wide range of traffic control devices.
Candidates must have direct experience in the maintenance and repair of traffic signal systems and demonstrate the ability to lead and support field crews. The department desires individuals with at least one year of full supervisory experience along with strong leadership communication and organizational skills.
Applicants who have experience using Bluebeam software hold a crane certification or possess IMSA certifications (International Municipal Signal Association) are highly encouraged to apply.

PreEmployment
