Position at JBS USA
Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Location: Omaha
Reporting to: Maintenance Supervisor
Essential Job Functions:
- Inspect and test machinery to ensure proper functioning
- Inspect mechanical equipment to locate damage defects or wear replacing worn damaged or defective mechanical parts as needed
- Dismantle machines equipment or devices to access and remove defective parts using hoists and hand tools or power tools
- Disassemble equipment for maintenance or repair
- Operate hoists or other moving or lifting equipment
- Perform routine maintenance such as inspecting drives motors or belts checking fluid levels replacing filters or performing other preventive maintenance
- Inspect mechanical components to identify problems
- Trouble shoot electrical controls and components and repair as needed
Experience Required:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred but not required
- 23 years of industrial electrical experience in a food industry environment preferred but not required
- 23 years of ammonia refrigeration operation in a food industry environment preferred but not required
Skills/Abilities Required:
- Basic computer skills
- Must be able to climb ladders lift heavy objects work with a variety of hand and power tools and shop machines
- Must be able to work in extreme temperatures
- Knowledge of manufacturing/packaging equipment including hydraulics pneumatics pumps valves cylinders labeling equipment and conveyors
- Must demonstrate a strong work ethic organizational skills and the ability to learn quickly
- Must be able to work flexible hours overtime and some weekends
