The job of the Bus Driver is done for the purpose of transporting students over scheduled routes and/or to/from special excursions; ensuring vehicle is in safe operating condition; and ensuring safety of students during transport loading and unloading from buses.
Responsibilities include:
- Advises students and other passengers of appropriate behavior
- Assesses incidents complaints accidents and/or potential emergency situations
- Assists students and other passengers
- Attends meetings trainings etc.
- Cleans assigned vehicles both interior and exterior; conducts emergency evacuation drills
- Drives school bus(es)
- Fuels assigned vehicle (e.g. oil water fuel etc.)
- Performs pretrip and posttrip inspections (e.g. fluid levels tire pressure exterior condition etc.)
- Prepares documents and reports (e.g. field trip reports incident reports inspection records passenger misconduct mileage logs student counts etc.)
- Reports observations and/or incidents (e.g. discipline accidents inappropriate social behavior etc.)
- Responds to inquires (e.g. students parents other school personnel etc.)
- Supervises students and other passengers during transit
- Assists other personnel as may be required
Experience is desired. Full time with Benefits 2540 hrs. per week. $19.40 Depending on Experience; w/Certificate. The District trains new bus drivers.
Qualifications:
- Alcohol and Drug Test
- Preplacement Physical Exam
- Criminal justice fingerprint/background clearance
- Random drug testing
- Ability to read write and communicate clearly in English
This is a 10 month School Year position only.
