Job Description

Title of Position:

Summer Behavior Technician

Work Year:

Summer 2025

Effective Date of Employment:

June 30 2025 July 31 2025 (Monday Thursday 5 weeks)

Location and Hours:

ECC: PreK 8:15am 1:45pm

Jaworek: K5 8:15am 1:45pm

MHS: 6 12 7:45am 1:15pm

Compensation:

$25.50 per hour

Organizational Relationship:

Reports to the Summer Supervisor for Special Education and Assistant Superintendent of Student Services and Equity

State of Duties:

  • Provide a highly structured approach that relies on behavioral principals
  • Run programs that specify predetermined skills including: academic communication motor social adaptive daily living skills (including: toileting (may require lifting) grooming dressing and eating) using a systematic prompting sequence

  • Collect data and record progress of skill acquisition
  • Graph all programs daily to track progress

  • Assist students in generalizing learned skills within the general education settings
  • Implement play plans and facilitate interactions
  • Collect student work as directed by special education teacher or summer supervisor for special education
  • Gather/create/organize materials for educational programs behavior charts reinforcement systems etc. as requested by special educator
  • Work with students who may exhibit behaviors such as: aggression property destruction selfinjury noncompliance disruption inattention to task social deficits nonverbal communication skills and safety concerns
  • Implement specific behavior protocol (including data collection and graphing as needed)
  • Maintain current crisis prevention certification (e.g. SafetyCare) and implement physical restraints and escorts as needed

  • Consult with special educator general educator and behavior specialist
  • Complete home communication log

  • Attend required meetings and trainings
  • Responsible for other general duties as indicated by the Summer Administrators directives of the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee and policies of the Marlborough School Committee

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity working with specific students in the program is highly preferred.
  • 12 years of supervised experience using ABA methodologies preferably in a Public school setting with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder or related disabilities
  • Minimuman Associates degree or 2 years of college (48 credits) or Passing the ParaPro exam preferred. A Bachelors degree is a plus. Degree in the field of education or psychology is also a plus.
