Job Description

Vanderlande is seeking a Bid Manager Procurement to serve as the procurement expert during the Project Sales phase driving standardization and cost optimization of our offers. As a Bid Manager Procurement you will be the key point of contact for procurement activities during sales collaborating with engineering and sales teams to ensure competitive and feasible project proposals.

Our global procurement organization enables our projects and business functions by maximizing value and minimizing risks via the procurement of goods and services in the most costeffective and sustainable way. We ensure a resilient and competitive supplier ecosystem and aim to advance towards bestinclass practices and ensure the organization is efficient effective and futureproof. Furthermore our procurement organization plays a significant role in Vanderlandes transformation from an EngineertoOrder (ETO) to a ConfiguretoOrder (CTO) business model. This new model aims at enhancing value for its customers through increased standardization scalability and more competitive solutions.

What will you be doing

As the Bid Manager Procurement will be the key point of contact for procurement activities during the sales phase focusing on standardization cost optimization risk mitigation and strategic supplier selection. You will help shape sales offers initiate and/or manage RFx events for nonitemized items and ensure seamless project handover to the project execution teams. Your role is crucial in aligning procurement activities with sales objectives and ensuring project feasibility.

Responsibilities

  • Function as the key pointofcontact for procurementrelated activities during the Project Sales phase supporting and collaborating with the sales engineering and sales teams to minimize total project risk and cost.

  • Help shape sales offers to leverage itemized items and ensure competitive procurementrelated conditions (e.g. cost lead times) challenging nonstandard specifications to optimize engineering choices towards best practices and costefficiency from a procurement perspective.

  • During the sales phase identify goods or services with long lead times that do not meet project requirements develop a strategy to ensure feasibility.

  • Advise project stakeholders on default products/services and supplier options and provide alternative recommendations or trigger the selection of a new supplier when default suppliers are unsuitable due to specific project requirements.

  • In the Project Sales phase initiate and/or lead RFx events (depending on the applicable category policy profile and characteristics) for nonitemized products and services including document creation evaluation of supplier proposals against predefined criteria shouldcost modelling coordination and participate in negotiations with suppliers and final supplier selection.

  • Provide procurementrelated information required for the project Supply Plan as the Project Sales process progresses and communicate any changes or concerns with the project team.

  • Facilitate the handover of the sales projects to the Project Buyer.

  • When required create and maintain the GFE log (Good Faith Effort) ensure compliance and regulatory requirements are accurately documentedas outlined by the sales team.

What do we ask from you

To be successful in this role you should have:

  • Extensive experience (57 years) in procurement supply chain management or sales support within technical or engineeringfocused organizations.

  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes RFx management and supplier negotiation

  • Strong analytical skills to assess cost models lead times and supplier proposals identifying opportunities for optimization

  • Experience in developing mitigation strategies for supply chain risks particularly related to long lead times.

  • Effective communication skills with the ability to present procurement insights to sales and engineering teams.

  • Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with crossfunctional teams and stakeholders.

  • Ability to travel internationally up to 5% of the time.
