Job Description

Human Resources Technician IV Substitute Services

Location: Human Resources/DAC

12 months 8 hours/day

Grade 31 $24.40/hour

NonInterim Position

Start Date: 5/5/2025

Purpose Statement

The job of Human Resources Technician IV Substitute Services is done for the purpose/s of providing support to the delivery of human resource services with specific responsibility for maintaining all district human resources records data; completing assigned projects and tasks and and providing information to applicants and employees.

This job reports to the Department Administration.

Essential Functions

Assists with employment processes (e.g. review applicant documentation substitutes credentials ESI with salaries of retirees transfer process etc.) for the purpose of meeting district staffing requirements while complying with established guidelines.

Communicates with other employees departments administrators applicants and the public (e.g. human resource procedures monthly substitute orientations substitute allocation days resolving problems or questions plans or actions to be taken employee relations guidance etc.) for the purpose of providing information and assistance concerning employment recruitment personnel records and/or labor relations and related legal requirements.

Compiles data from a variety of sources for the purpose of complying with financial legal and/or administrative requirements.

Maintains all district human resource records data (e.g. Frontline system iVisions applicant tracking system vacancy logs job postings teacher transfers etc.) for the purpose of

providing reliable information and complying with mandated requirements.

This job reports to Department Administration

Compiles data from a variety of sources for the purpose of complying with financial legal and/or administrative requirements.

Responds to written and verbal inquiries from a variety of internal and external sources (e.g. appropriately certified employee relations decision etc.) for the purpose of providing information and/or providing direction.

Supports assigned personnel staff for the purpose of providing back up and assistance as needed.

Assists with the implementation maintenance and support of the ancillary financial and human resources software for the purpose of providing information and/or providing direction.

Collaborates with the Director of Human Resources for the purpose of maintaining compliance with federal and state requirements.

Compiles data from a variety of sources (e.g. daily utilities ADE etc.) for the purpose of complying with financial legal and/or administrative requirements.

Maintains a variety of district personnel records and data (e.g. teacher qualification documentation SDER employment contracts etc.) for the purpose of ensuring accuracy of employees compensation maintaining eligibility for position and complying with mandated requirements.

Monitors a range of personnel processes for the purpose of ensuring compliance with district state and/or federal regulations.

Performs HelpDesk support for ancillary financial and human resources software applications problems and issues (e.g.iVisions TE ESS Portal facilitating manual processes etc.) for the purpose of supporting department and district staff.

Prepares a variety of reports and related documents (e.g.iVision workflowsiVision reports mandatory state and federal reporting etc.) for the purpose of providing documentation and information.

Other Functions

Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Supervises assigned personnel (e.g. HR Technicians II and III) for the purpose of maintaining necessary staffing enhancing productivity of staff and ensuring necessary department outcomes are achieved.

Skills Knowledge and Abilities

SKILLS are required to perform multiple tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: preparing and maintaining accurate records; planning and managing projects; operating standard office equipment; utilizing pertinent software applications; customer service; classifying data and/or information.

KNOWLEDGE is required to perform basic math including calculations using fractions percents and/or ratios; read technical information compose a variety of documents and/or facilitate group discussions; solve practical knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: standard office software; office methods and procedures; business telephone etiquette; concepts of codes/laws/rules/regulations/policies.

Work Environment

The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands: some lifting carrying pushing and/or pulling some stooping kneeling crouching and/or crawling and significant fine finger the job requires 90% sitting 5% walking and 5% job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.

Experience: Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility (HR Tech II III) in

Human Resources is desired.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Equivalency: 2 years experience in Human Resources
