We Require
High school diploma or GED
Three years of experience operating trucks and equipment
Must possess a valid Arizona Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with no restrictions and a Tanker Endorsement
Other endorsements may be required for some job assignments
State and federal regulations require Maricopa County to conduct a preemployment safety history investigation for all positions that require an applicant to possess a commercial drivers license (CDL). Maricopa County is also required to conduct a preemployment safety history investigation for positions that directly impact commercial motor vehicle safety but may not specifically require a valid CDL

Experience transporting heavy equipment or truck hauling
Job Contributions
Schedule and transport heavyduty equipment outofservice equipment and vehicles in accordance with all local state and federal requirements
Operate a variety of medium to largesized construction and maintenance equipment/vehicles including distributor truck for dust control/soil stabilization dump trucks water trucks and transport trailers in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures
Coordinate daily repairs on all vehicles and equipment including coordinating with MCDOT staff Equipment Services Department staff and outside vendors to schedule diagnose monitor and approve repairs. Precheck train clean and perform simple maintenance work on vehicles and equipment
Upfit lightduty and heavyduty vehicles with safety equipment tools GPS and other necessary items depending on the work group and the task assigned
Complete required daily logs and Cartegraph data entry for work performed each day
Respond to emergencies in the interest of public safety and property protection
Ensure all required permits and transport equipment are in compliance with all local state and federal requirements
Update all databases with required information including Samsara AARG Cartegraph Faster and MCDOT Equipment List and Equipment Locations with vehicle assignments and information
Other job duties as assigned
Working Conditions
Exerting 50 100 pounds occasionally 10 25 pounds frequently or up to 10 20 pounds constantly
Incumbent may be subjected to extreme temperatures wetness/humidity respiratory hazards and noise and vibration
Incumbent may be subjected to moving mechanical parts vibrations fumes odors dusts poor ventilation chemicals oils extreme temperatures inadequate lighting workspace restrictions intense noises and travel
Machines tools equipment software and hardware
Heavyduty vehicles trailers and equipment; Cartegraph; Fleet management software; hand and power tools; transport trailers chains and detachable towing units.
Protective equipment required
All OSHA and MCDOT required PPE including but not limited to hard hat safety vest safety boots safety glasses and gloves
