About us

Riverlanes mission is to make quantum computing useful sooner. From advances in material science to complex chemistry simulation for drug design and discovery quantum computers will help solve some of the worlds most important challenges. Riverlane is building the quantum error correction stack Deltaflow to make this happen. Its a complex problem that requires a range of skills talent and passion.

We recently raised $75M in Series C funding to accelerate our cuttingedge R&D in quantum error correction (QEC) and are partnering with many of the worlds leading quantum hardware providers and government agencies to make faulttolerant quantum computing a reality. Were making remarkable progress and growing fast.

About the role

At Riverlane we build new and advanced solutions to solve one of the hardest problems in quantum computing: quantum error correction (QEC). As a Software Engineer at Riverlane you will help test build and integrate the worlds first QEC stack. This cuttingedge and exciting work will involve collaborating with inhouse engineering teams as well as our external quantum hardware partners.

Were creating something truly unique complex and largescale so being comfortable with engineering to evolving specs is key. As such you will be happy and excited to have the chance to get handson quickly in areas outside your own expertise. You will also work well with different people and be teamoriented.

Prior quantum computing knowledge is not necessary you will learn this along the way!



Requirements

What you will do

You will work with our talented software team and hardware designers to designand build the software for the worlds first Quantum Error Correction stack. In your role as Software Engineer you will:

    • Design and build components for our quantum error correction stack with a focus on userfacing software libraries to help customers test and use our system
    • Ensure wholesystem correctness and performance through the creation of tests and benchmarks
    • Integrate our system with customers and build the infrastructure to make these efforts reproducible
    • Develop a broad understanding across several layers of the stack

What we need

    • Expertise with Python
    • Curiosity to learn about new technologies including quantum computing and quantum error correction
    • Experience with customerfacing interactions helping to get clients using a complex system
    • Experience with standard development practises such as source control continuous integration and unit testing
    • Familiarity with networking (equipping you with the ability to securely connect our system to an external partner)
    • Ability to debug issues in a deployment and adapt to find workarounds as needed
    • Great communication skills and the ability to work well with a diverse range of people (both internally and externally) are absolutely essential
