Blizzard Entertainment is looking for a talented Video Editor for its Blizzard Video team. Blizzard Video is the video and postproduction arm of the Story & Franchise Development team. We exist to engage inform and activate the global Blizzard community through the creation of epic video content.
Blizzard Video needs a dedicated video editor to bolster our current editorial staff.This person must have strong professional editorial and visual storytelling experience as well as outstanding communication skills. They must be highly organized and able to thrive in a fastpaced environment while handling multiple projects with tight deadlines.
This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position with some work onsite and some workfromhome. The home studio for this role is Irvine CA.
This is a 12month temporary position.
What You Bring to the Table
Priorities can often change in a fastpaced environment like ours so this role includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities:
- Provide creative video editorial for a wide range of projects across all of Blizzards IPs working with a mix of game capture motion graphics music and sound effects to create works that excite inform and still tell a story
- Must be able to operate with varying degrees of supervision. Take ownership when needed while remaining flexible to collaboration and iteration working with a team of dedicated game capture artists a motion graphics artist and project directors
- Facilitate content reviews with stakeholders and implement director notes
- Ingest organize and update footage; music and sound effects pulled from our library; locate archival assets necessary to support their assignment objectives
- Generate reviewable files and outputs for Sound and work closely with the remote assistant editors to hand off master sequences for processing and delivery
Minimum Requirements
Experience
- 5 years professional editorial experience
Knowledge & Skills
- Deep knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro
- Strong ability to edit music to maximize impact
- Good sense of timing pacing and controlling story flow through editing as well as a demonstrable understanding of good composition screen direction and the 180 line continuity & eye trace
- Basic Color Correction skills
- Knowledge of current postproduction industrystandard workflows and archival organization
- Familiarity with Blizzards game worlds and the stories told within them
- Demonstrated expertise working in short form media and visual storytelling (Social content commercials sizzle reels trailers shorts etc.)
Key Attributes
- Highly selfmotivated with excellent communication skills
- Able to work well under tight deadlines and quick project turnover
- Collaborate with Directors Producers Graphics and Capture team members as well as departments outside postproduction (e.g. Sound Game Teams etc.)
- Able to troubleshoot and solve problems independently
Extra Points
- Previous trailer experience in the Gaming industry
- Familiarity with capturing game footage
- Compositing and 2D effects (Adobe After Effects)
- Animation/3D Title Creation/Storyboarding/or other related skill
- Familiarity advanced video compression techniques and associated software packages

You can learn more by visiting the U.S. the standard base pay range for this role is $29.81 $55.14 Hourly. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately your specific range and offer will be based on several factors including relevant experience performance and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this roles range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed. While we strive to provide competitive offers to successful candidates new hire compensation is negotiable.
