Job Description

Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) is seeking a detailoriented and analytical Senior Analyst to join our Global Financial Operations (GFO) team. The GFO is part of SPEs wider finance function responsible for strengthening & stewarding SPEs financial direction across all lines of business ensuring compliance and governance of financial and accounting management processes and upholding a leading standard of operational excellence. The Senior Participations Analyst is responsible for preparing processing and issuing statements to third party participants with a focus on abstracting complex agreements and creating associated firsttime statements in the Participations Reporting system (PAWS). This position resides within the GFOPRA department (Participations Residuals ThirdParty Audits) and functions as a business partner with various SPEteams while maintaining relationships to support the studios talentfriendly objectives.

Duties included but are not limited to the following:

  • High profile complex partner deals with Investors CoFinancers CoDistributors. Preparing manual schedules and corresponding directly with our partners to maintain strong talent friendly focused business relationships. While also working hand in hand with Divisional finance to ensure deals are being reported in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Manage Name & Likeness statement reporting and collaborate with Consumer Products on accurate data flows to ensure timely statement issuance
  • Project lead to research and cleanup historical outstanding payments and unissued statements
  • Reviewing lowrisk recurring statements prepared by the Capgemini team
  • Preparing complex recurring statements with manual calculations and reviewing for accuracy before issuance.
  • ESOAR projects including an active role in the visualizing development and testing of new PAWS features including workflows and automations.
  • Abstracting agreements setting up firsttime statements in PAWS analyzing inputs such as production cost and thirdparty reporting and calculating interest.
  • Working with Legal and Business Affairs to resolve contractual issues obtain appropriate signoffs before statement issuance and communicating potential roadblocks.
  • Training junior staff to use PAWS abstract basic deals and statement set up.
  • Converting legacy statements to PAWS as needed.

Requirements:

  • BA / BS preferred. Accounting / Finance / Legal a plus.
  • 1 3 years of Participations and statement analysis experience.
  • Understanding of accounting principles and general ledgers;
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office applications with strong Excel skills
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal;
  • Contract reading analysis and data modeling based on contractual terms.
  • Ability to work independently organize work efficiently identify and meet deadlines;
  • Comfort with multitasking and managing multiple projects;
  • Strong logical and analytical skills;
  • Ability working remotely via Teams or in person as job duties require.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $69600$87000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors including without limitation the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position years of relevant experience level of education attained certifications or other professional licenses held and if applicable the location of the position.
