Senior Data Analyst BI & Python
100% Remote Canada (EST hours preferred)
Experience: 7 Years
Role Summary: NearSource is looking for a Senior Data Analyst to drive enterprise-grade analytics reporting and insights across cross-functional this role youll support data-driven decision-making through advanced BI development pipeline ownership and scalable reporting solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain dashboards for cross-functional teams including Sales Customer Success Marketing and Product
- Execute ad-hoc analyses and behavioral deep dives to support critical business decisions
- Lead the end-to-end data pipeline lifecycle: ingestion modeling and analytics
- Design build test and deploy scalable solutions using structured and unstructured data
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver actionable insights
- Translate business requirements into detailed epics and technical tasks
- Own backlog grooming and sprint planning using Jira
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity across all analysis and reporting
- Mentor junior analysts through technical guidance and best practice sharing
- Maintain documentation for data engineering workflows and tools
Must-Have Skills
- 7 years of experience in big data systems data processing and SQL databases
- 5 years of hands-on programming experience preferably in Python
- Strong SQL skills with experience in dimensional modeling and data warehousing (Hive Snowflake)
- Proficient with Power BI for dashboard development and insight sharing
- Exposure to modern data stack tools: Snowflake DBT Fivetran and Airflow
- Experience working on product analytics and stakeholder-facing insights
- Strong organizational communication and multitasking skills
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Familiarity with scheduling tools like Airflow for pipeline orchestration
- Understanding of version control and modular code practices
- Interest in modern data quality and observability tools
