About this opportunity

The Assistant Leading Hand is responsible for assisting their shift Leading Hand to oversee all activities and persons within the production hall. Directly reporting to their shift Leading Hand working closely with and accountable to the site Quality Officer.

Hours of work: 15:00 to 23:00 MonFri

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

An employee in this position is responsible for:

  • Assigning and coordinating the tasks for their shift production team.
  • Machine operation; ensure machines operate efficiently and produce conforming product.
  • Conducting product testing and making the necessary process adjustments of the machine when testing indicates that it is required.
  • Conduct all operations in such a manner as to comply with WHS requirements.
  • Conduct all operations which comply with Food Safety requirements.
  • Conduct all operations in such a manner as to comply with Quality Standards.

Your skills and experience

As an experienced Machine Operator you will be selfmotivated with a strong work ethic and pay excellent attention to detail.

To succeed you will also possess the following:

  • Previous machine operation experience (Blow moulding experience preferred though not essential)
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Capable of troubleshooting and resolving problems at the root cause and the ability to make minor machine adjustments to address efficiency and product nonconformances with the use of small hand tools
  • Strong focus on safety and able to apply methodologies to improve processes
  • A commitment to quality
  • Results driven
  • Good written & verbal communication skills
  • Solid understanding of HACCP & GMP
  • Reliable punctual and available to work weekends
  • Hold a current NSW forklift license or be willing to obtain one
