You will be responsible for developing implementing and maintainingJavabased componentsandfrontend interfaces using modern technologies. - Design build and maintain bothbackend services and frontend interfaces that enable rich adaptable experiences for customers and internal users.
- Lead and participate in medium to largescale projects by reviewing requirements translating them into technical solutions capturing information writing and developing code conducting unit testing presenting status and issues to collaborators solving open issues and bugs and ensuring timely delivery and handoff.
- Work with bothJavabased microservicesandfrontend technologies like React.
- Perform design and code reviews across both backend and frontend codebases.
- Build and implement a shiftleft approach in testing and testdriven development.
- Work with a geodistributed team in an agile development environment.
- Collaborate closely with Application Development and Architecture teams.
- Champion engineering perfection and focus on scalability resiliency high availability and performance.
- Drive innovation through rapid prototyping and iterative development.
- Mentor and support peers contributing to Chewys internal engineering community.
- Work with key partners and service providers to build impactful technical solutions.
What Youll Need:
- Strong knowledge and proven expertise withJavaandSpringbased REST services.
- Handson engineering attitude with a focus on writing highquality maintainable code.
- Experience building and integratingfrontend applications using React and GraphQL.
- Strong understanding of Java concurrency threadsafe design patterns and cloudnative development in AWS.
- Familiarity with messaging systems like Kafka or ActiveMQ.
- Experience with modern tools and environments including GitHub DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- BS degree in Computer Science or a similar technical field or equivalent practical experience.
- Willingness to travel if required.
Bonus:
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Experience with GitHub and AWS or other cloud platforms.
- Strong understanding of API design and development at scale.
- Proven understanding of frontend architecture including componentdriven design.
- Experience in theeCommerce domainis a plus.
