Join the University of Central Florida (UCF) Libraries as we seek a forwardthinking and serviceoriented supervisor to direct our Access Services Desk day shift. As a supervisor in Access Services youll play a crucial role in ensuring seamless access to the Libraries resources and spaces for our academic community.
Members of Access Services manage service desks in multiple locations the John C. Hitt Library and the Curriculum Materials Center located nearby and serves the College of Community Innovation and Education. This dedicated team provides cohesive userfocused services in the circulation of materials and course reserves management of study rooms the safety and security of our facilities and management of fines and bills. In the Hitt Library we also have a stateoftheart Automated Retrieval Center (ARC) a highdensity storage facility where library materials are kept and accessed by robotic systems to retrieve items on demand.
You will manage projects that streamline processes to improve service quality across service points implement new technological solutions to improve user experiences and support ongoing efforts to efficiently relocate materials across the Libraries. Working alongside dedicated library professionals who share your commitment to excellence youll have the opportunity to shape the future of library access and space utilization at one of the nations largest universities.
This position combines strategic leadership with handson innovation ideal for a serviceminded professional ready to make their mark in the amazing UCF Libraries.
Responsibilities:
Supervises trains and evaluates Access Services Desk day unit Library Technical Assistants and student workers.
Develops staff and student desk schedules.
Manages the circulation of materials providing assistance and general information to patrons.
Troubleshoots problems and resolve issues.
Manages the process and maintenance of print course reserves.
Updates interprets and implements Access Services desk and circulation policies and procedures.
Manages the performance of financial transactions and record keeping related to fines book bills and interlibrary loan materials.
Responsible for the management of Special Borrower routines.
Manages the opening or closing of the building as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information
Preferred Qualifications:
2 years of leadership experience.
Experience working in a library setting or higher education setting.
Experience with Alma/Primo or other Library Services Platform.
Outstanding customer service experience.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to serve our university and central Florida communities.
