Job Description

Job Title: Specialist Technical Writing

Job Description:

Technical Publications is a unified team of professionals committed to providing quality and timely publication deliverables for commercial and government projects in a dynamic environment. Team members are responsible for gathering composing and editing technical information to prepare flight manuals maintenance manuals and other technical documentation for our warfighters.

Essential Functions:

Authoring/Generating content for illustrated parts catalogs/maintenance manuals/flight operation/mission systems/Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) documents in an Unstructured/Structured FrameMaker environment or other authoring software for commercial and or Air Force Army or Navy programs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in a related field with 2 or more years of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Prior experience authoring any of the following: Illustrated parts catalogs/maintenance manuals/flight operation/mission systems/Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) documents in an Unstructured/Structured FrameMaker environment or other authoring software for Air Force Army or Navy programs.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Strong working knowledge of ATA iSpec 2200 MILPRF38807C MilSTD2361C and MILSTD37874.
  • Must be able to work well with colleagues internal customers and external customers.
  • Must be able to work within and potentially lead defined budgets and meet schedule deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills with solid understanding of MS Office Suite and applications.
  • Understanding of engineering principles reading schematics and/or wiring diagrams.
  • Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
