Were looking for a passionate empathetic and motivated individual to join our friendly team in Croydon as a Recovery Motivator Housing Support.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of people facing housing challenges alongside issues related to substance use and recovery.
Youll be working closely with individuals in structured treatment who are at risk of entering a housing crisis or experiencing homelessness. Your role will be to:
Provide wraparound personcentred support that covers emotional practical and social aspects of tenancy sustainment
Connect people with the services they need to improve health wellbeing and inclusion
Work with emergency temporary and supported accommodations across the area
Support budgeting access to education training and employment
Collaborate with local partners including the local authority housing providers health and social care services and voluntary organisations
Be a champion for change helping clients build resilience and move forward confidently
Youll play a key part in developing best practices in supporting individuals new to tenancies or at risk of losing their home helping us build a more joinedup responsive and compassionate housing support service.
Location: Croydon London
Hours: Full Time (37.5 hours per week)
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: 25077 per annum (based on fulltime hours pro rata is part time)
Allowances: 2195.72 Outer London Weigting (based on fulltime hours pro rata is part time)
*Please note: Fulltime hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For parttime roles the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.
Were looking for someone who brings both experience and empathy to this role. The ideal candidate will have:
A strong understanding of the harmful effects of drug and alcohol use particularly in relation to health housing employment personal relationships and social welfare
Practical knowledge of the benefits system including experience supporting individuals with benefit applications
Proven ability to engage effectively with people from a wide range of backgrounds including those with complex or multiple needs
Confidence and professionalism in managing challenging behaviours in a compassionate and personcentred way
Good awareness of local services and pathways particularly those related to education training and recovery support
Knowledge / understanding of local housing providers (Registered Social Landlords) and the tenancy issues that may affect people accessing our services
