Job Description

The Opportunity:

The Medical Staff Relations Coordinator works independently under the direction of the Director of Outpatient Services and in collaboration with NCHC supervising clinical staff and program directors and managers. This position is delegated the responsibility of being the liaison for interns locums residents and medical students placed with NCHC with a focus in the following areas:

  • Onboards and supports Graduate Medical Education (GME) learners (medical students and residents) throughout their NCHC rotations.
  • Acts as primary NCHC contact for residents for orientation training and coordination of scheduled hours.
  • Manages locum and midlevel provider coverage on inpatient units
  • Coordinates the credentialing requirements process for new prescribers and clinicians with the credentialling and privileging specialist.
  • Coordinates clinical internship and observership placements with educational facilities and programs.

The pay range for this role is $29.45 to $32.00 based on education and experience. This job is a fulltime in person position.

What Youll Do:

  • Operationalizes key initiatives as directed from clinical leadership teams.
  • Coordinates all residency program or medical school activities.
  • Serves as primary liaison with learners and support staff for advanced practice providers medical students residents fellows and any other learner/student/intern from a practice field who is obtaining clinical training and/or experience at NCHC.
  • Ensures an appropriate Affiliation Agreement is on file with the schools and gathers all required preexperience information.
  • Ensures required procedures are in place for selection of and support of clinical interns per regulations.
  • Serves as a resource and interprets respective programs specific policies and procedures to achieve the necessary clinical objectives.
  • Participates in orientation handbook development and coordinates onboarding activities including but not limited to technology training for all learners. Provides ongoing support beyond orientation with respect to these activities serving as a resource for medical staff and learners.
  • Collaborates with counterparts in educational institutions to ensure quality experience for interns and residents.
  • Communicates with Locums agencies to facilitate contract specifics as requested.
  • Maintains regular communication with residents and attending physicians to provide support and address identified barriers to a quality experience at NCHC.
  • Provides administrative support for focused and ongoing professional practice evaluations and peer review process for prescribers.
  • In collaboration with Patient Access coordinates and monitors attendance and schedules needed to ensure proper quality patient care experience. Maintains program timelines and learners schedules in coordination with program staff.
  • Maintains working knowledge of program policies including Medical Staff Bylaws.
  • Participates in accreditation activities surrounding medical staff to ensure compliance with the standards.
  • Coordinates the development of education program materials and forms including scheduling placements and rotations schedules.
  • Develops implements and maintains comprehensive databases and files related to the educational services programs.
  • Coordinates the timely completion and clinical evaluation in the appropriate systems.
  • Organizes internal and external meetings site visits and special events related to educational program needs.
  • Coordinates education sessions including faculty scheduling room reservations procuring equipment and supplies setup gathering session materials and assignments.
  • Partners with Recruitment team to focus on recruitment and retention of learners.
  • Collect input and submit accurate Program Participation System (PPS) data to track eligibility enrollment and longterm situational services received.
  • Assist leadership in ensuring and maintaining compliance with state regulations and Joint Commission standards related to service delivery by the psychiatry residents.
  • Support internal audits and quality assurance initiatives to enhance service delivered by graduate medical learners.
  • Provides information support and problem solving on a wide range of issues for leaders faculty staff and learners.

What You Bring:

Required:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 12 years experience in healthcare or related field

Preferred:

  • Masters in healthcare or related field.
  • 3 or more years experience in health care or related field
  • Experience in a behavioral health setting.
