Job Description
Paraprofessional
Paraprofessional to work oneonone with a student.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrate a relentless commitment to the academic achievement of all students.
- Maintain professional behavior appearance and work ethic to represent the school in a positive manner at all times.
- Articulate a positive image of the school and personnel.
- Assist the teacher in preparing instructional materials classroom displays and instructional activities.
- Work with individual students or small groups to conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher.
- Assist with the administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments.
- Assist in supervising students throughout the school day both inside and outside the classroom including cafeteria bus duty and playground.
- Keep the teacher informed of any special needs or problems of individual students.
- Assist in maintaining a neat and orderly classroom.
- Assist in inventory care and maintenance of equipment.
- Assist the teacher in keeping administrative records and preparing required reports.
- Communicate positively with students parents visitors and staff.
- Maintain a positive attitude and represent the school in a positive manner at all times.
- Effectively and positively communicate orally and in writing.
- Other duties as assigned by principals.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress.
Physical Demands: Including but not limited to: Frequent standing stooping bending pulling and pushing; move small stacks of textbooks media equipment desks and other classroom equipment.
