SUMMARY: Interact with students staff parents and public. Perform any of the following clerical duties: answering phone operating office machines maintaining student records and schedules distributing mail and photocopying.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
-File and maintain student records.
-Perform clerical duties such as answering telephone taking messages and typing.
-Provide information to administrators and school staff regarding school curriculum and technology.
-Answer questions and communicate with students teachers parents or public visiting the office.
-Distribute U.S. Mail and District pony mail.
-Perform photocopying as requested.
-Order and stock supplies.
-Compute curriculum schedules.
-Compute copy machine charges.
-Perform annual inventory storage of supplies and general house keeping.
-Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING: High school diploma/GED required. Jeffco paraprofessional training will be offered upon acceptance of a position and must be completed at first available training opportunity.
EXPERIENCE: Previous experience in a school setting preferred.
SKILLS KNOWLEDGE & EQUIPMENT: Requires basic language math writing microcomputer and filing skills. Knowledge of general office equipment preferred.

SUPERVISION/TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITY: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
CONTACTS: Daily contact with persons in the same work unit or building persons in other departments or buildings students parents general public and PTA to provide service or furnish information.

JUDGMENT AND DECISION MAKING: Work is assigned by administrator counselor computer instructor or office secretary. This position requires ability to follow directions based on the instructions given. Errors in decision making could lead to incorrect information provided to the students parents or the public. Decision making requires collaboration with teaching staff and administrator. Work is guided by District policies school policies and department procedures.
DIVERSITY OF DUTIES: Duties require cross training in general office equipment including use of microcomputers. This position requires communication skills ability to work with students and ability to work independently.
