Job Description:
Students will assist classroom teachers in providing highquality care for childrens physical social emotional and cognitive needs. Students and classroom teachers will work together to maintain a safe and nurturing environment that is welcoming to children families and lab students. Students will engage in respectful play with children in a way that is appropriate for their age and developmental stage. Students are expected to interact with children in a positive and encouraging manner assist with basic care of children including diapering toileting feeding etc. build and maintain professional relationships with children families and staff members maintain appropriate childteacher ratios at all times work with classroom teachers to straighten up the classroom sanitize materials (as needed) and put supplies away submit time off requests in a timely manner demonstrate a willingness to learn about the Piper philosophy of teaching and help children work through conflicts modeling assertiveness kindness and respect.
- Assist students in a designated academic subject or discipline as needed
- Foster educational growth and development; identify educational needs and provide assistance as necessary
- Ensure confidentiality of all pertinent information
- Provide information and excellent customer service to constituents
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment
- Ability to comply with University policies
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
