About the Role
The Human Resources (HR) Generalist is critical to the smooth operation of our HR functions supporting employees across the organization and partnering with leadership to drive a positive compliant and inclusive workplace culture. Reporting to the Vice President of Talent & Compliance the HR Generalist will lead and support a variety of HR initiatives including employee engagement onboarding compliance performance management employee relations and daytoday HR operations
What Youll Do
Design and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement and workplace culture.
Conduct employee engagement surveys; analyze results and collaborate with leadership on action planning.
Welcome and guide new hires on their first day including introductions and orientation review.
Support employees and managers with HRrelated questions and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
Serve as a trusted point of contact for HR inquiries regarding policies procedures and benefits.
Manage onboarding tasks for new hires including I9s EVerify and contractspecific documents.
Contact new hires prior to start dates to ensure all preemployment steps are completed.
Maintain accurate employee files and HR system records.
Support offboarding including exit interviews termination letters and unemployment claims.
Manage labor law postings across office locations.
Maintain employee data integrity in HRIS (e.g. Workday) conducting regular audits and updates.
Complete employment income and benefit verification requests.
Distribute internal HR communications and onboarding materials.
Ensure compliance with all federal state and local employment laws including EEOC ADA FMLA and workplace safety regulations.
Assist with audit preparation and compliance data compilation.
Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures in alignment with regulatory standards and organizational goals.
Ensure confidentiality and compliance in handling employee relations matters.
Track and report on key HR metrics including turnover diversity and engagement.
Perform related duties as assigned within your scope of practice.
Minimum Qualifications & Skills
Bachelors degree in Education Human Resources Public Administration or related field.
Certified in Human Resources or other relevant area (preferred).
Three (3) years of HR experience preferably in a professional setting.
One (1) year experience supporting a government contracting company.
Knowledge of Service Contract Act (SCA) and government contracting compliance (preferred).
Experience supporting a geographically dispersed or remote team.
Strong working knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices.
Excellent interpersonal written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to manage confidential information with discretion integrity and professionalism.
Ability to communicate effectively across departments and with internal and external customers stakeholders and employees at all levels.
Requires the ability to prioritize have effective time management skills meet stringent deadlines balance multiple tasks and work in a team environment.
Strong problemsolving skills and ability to make quick effective decisions.
Ability to handle sensitive and difficult situations with empathy and professionalism.
Committed to providing outstanding customer service and representing the company in a professional manner.
Proven experience working in a fastpaced environment where personal initiative is a critical element to success.
Proficiency with HRIS systems.
Experience with Workday HRM (preferred).
Must possess strong computer skills in MS Office including Excel Word Outlook and Teams.
Ability to type 55 wpm.
Work Environment
This is an inperson position working out of the Miami TX office.
Work Schedule
This is a fulltime position that typically works business hours Monday through Friday. Hours may vary depending on needs and may at times include evenings or weekends to meet specific project requirements.
Condition of Employment
Complete a rigorous culture and competency testing process.
Complete a Drug Test.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
A valid U.S. Drivers license.
Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance Tier 2.
Security Clearance/Background Check Requirements
Applicants selected will be subject to a government background investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Must be a U.S Citizen or Permanent Resident.
U.S. Residency requirement 3 consecutive years in the last 5 years.
Child Abuse/Neglect Report (CAN) or child protective services check to the satisfaction of contract requirements.
Internal background check to the satisfaction of contract requirements.
