Job Description
The University of Nevada Reno is recruiting for a Program Specialist in the Office of Student Conduct. The Office of Student Conduct is committed to working strategically and collaboratively towards creating an environment where everyone feels valued heard respected and empowered.
The Program Specialist key responsibilities include:
Conduct Investigations: Handle reports of alleged violations of the Student Code of Conduct and Academic Standards as directed by the Assistant Dean of Student Conduct.
Adjudication: Investigate and adjudicate reported violations applying campus sanctioning guidelines to determine appropriate interventions or referrals for students and student organizations found responsible.
Manage Faculty Complaints: Address complaints from faculty regarding students charged with violations of Academic Standards.
Facilitate Hearings: Serve as the facilitator for hearings before the Student Conduct Hearing Board and the Academic Integrity Board.
Program Development: Collaborate with the Assistant Dean to create and implement prevention awareness and educational programs including the collection and evaluation of assessment data related to the conduct process.
Presentations: Create visual presentations to communicate ideas data or information.
Crisis Management: Assist in handling student crises and emergencies including referrals to medical or mental health professionals.
Legal Coordination: Work closely with the General Counsels office to protect the rights of all parties involved in conduct cases and to mitigate the universitys liability.
Documentation Updates: Maintain the university website and catalog by updating information related to the Student Code of Conduct as necessary.
Attention to Detail: Exhibit strong attention to detail and proficiency in basic office technology functions.
SelfStarter: Proven ability to independently manage multiple projects while maintaining strict attention to detail and meeting tight deadlines.
Technical Proficiency: Knowledge and abilities to perform tasks that use relevant tools equipment or technology (e.g. Word Outlook PowerPoint Adobe PDF Zoom Teams DocuSign)
Due to the nature of the services provided employees may encounter sensitive subject matter including sexual content violence mental health challenges and issues related to alcohol or other drugs through the course of normal work assignments.

Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree and two (2) years of related work experience OR
Masters degree and one (1) year of related work experience.
Related Experience: University student services; substance education prevention and/or counseling/treatment; academic integrity; or other relevant work experience or related experience.
Certification and Licensure
NV Drivers License within 30 days of hire or alternate form of transportation necessary to meet the requirements of this position.
Schedule or Travel Requirements
Variable Work Schedule (to include occasional nights and weekends)
Occasional Travel (local for training and investigations and regional and national for trainings and conferences)
