Job Description

Overview

The COGAR Group Ltd. (COGAR) is a Service Disabled VeteranOwned Small Business (SDVOSB) and a successful graduate of the Small Business Administrations 8(a) program in May of 2016. COGAR was founded in 2005 by a retired U.S. Army Warrant Officer with an impressive 40 years of senior management expertise within various strategic and military organizations worldwide. COGAR specializes in providing facilities management armed and unarmed physical security personnel security escort services access control and consulting services to the Federal Government and large corporations nationwide. COGAR is equipped to resolve complex problems in a variety of program management areas including; risk assessment physical security facilities management and personnel management ().

Job Skills / Requirements

Armed Security Officer (Guard II)
Hourly $37.13
Health and Welfare $6.85


Minimum Education:
1. High School Graduate or Equivalent
2. Read understand and apply printed rules detailed orders instructions and training materials.
3. Write clear concise accurate and detailed reports.
4. Speak English fluently and communicate effectively with the public.

Minimum Experience:
1. Possess a minimum of four (4) years of directly related professional security experience.
2. Successfully complete and maintain certification through the Federal Protective Service (FPS) per the Security Guard Information Manual (SGIM)
a. FPS certification must be current. (Not older than five years)
b. Annual training in CPR/First Aid use of OC Spray (Oleoresin Capsicum) and Operation Security (OPSEC) Awareness.

Health Requirements:
1. Must be in good general health without physical defects or abnormalities that would interfere with performance.
2. Must be physically able to:
a. Stand for 4 hours or more
b. Work in adverse condition (steep grades rocky landscapes inclement weather).
c. Stay alert for up to 12 hours and react quickly to emergencies.
d. Subdue violent/disturbed individuals provide emergency First Aid or perform resuscitation.
e. Run sprint lift/move heavy objects climb stairs and operate security equipment (metal detectors xray machines CCTV)

Vision Requirements:
1. Binocular vision with one eye correctable to 20/30 or better the other eye correctable to 20/40 or better.
2. Close vision correctable to 20/30 or better in both eyes.
3. Normal color vision field of vision and depth perception.

Hearing:
1. Operable hearing aids are acceptable if hearing is correctable to the normal range.

Annual drug screening is required.

Annual certifications required:

1. CPR and First Aid through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (ARC)
2. Automatic Electronic Defibrillator (AED) usage

Security Requirements:
1. TS/SCI Security Clearance with poly
2. Must be a United States citizen
3. Minimum age of 21 years
4. No criminal felony record
5. No use of illegal narcotics or misuse of prescription drugs within two (2) years prior to employment.
6. Possess all state and local licenses permits and certifications required to carry a firearm. Licensing/qualification must match the make and model of the contractor issued firearm.
7. Comply with all applicable:
a. Department of Homeland Security standards (as outlined in SGIM).
b. State of Maryland and local firearms licensing requirements.



Applicants selected for this position may be subject to a Government Security Investigation and must meet eligibility for access to classified information Top Secret/SCI w/ poly clearance level.
