Job Description
Title: After School Care Assistant
Qualifications
Childcare daycare summer camp or child related work experience
Ability and willingness to work in a team setting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with students families and community
Skills and responsibilities may include the following
1. Assist in the planning of afterschool activities and instructional materials for the classroom.
2. Support the daily needs of the afterschool care program which effectively develops childrens interest and abilities through cooperative play and supervision.
3. Establish positive relationships with students families and community.
4. Assist in the physical environment to meet the needs of all children.
5. Participate in monthly staff meetings training and any other relevant school activities that will benefit the responsibilities of this position and the welfare of the students classroom and school culture.
6. Demonstrate positive rolemodel teacher practices.
7. Comply with district mission statement and purpose State of Michigan Licensing Guidelines and Great Start to Quality Goals and Outcomes (18 hours of continued onsite professional development required.)
Individuals in this position are expected to be available during the academic school calendar year during instruction days except on holidays and school closures. This job description is intended to describe the type and level of work being performed by the person in this position. Hours are 2:306:00 p.m.
