Job Description
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is growing rapidlymillions of customers from independent developers to large enterprises visit our management console.
The AWS User Experience Products & Platform team is responsible for products that enable AWS users to manage their applications and infrastructure on AWS. Our mission is to deliver an effective and loved user experience that makes it easy for all users to discover learn and build on AWS. Today we own the AWS Management Console the AWS Console Mobile App the AWS Chatbot and the User Experience Platform used by 200 AWS service teams to develop and deliver their user experience across multiple channels (web mobile chat).
The AWS User Experience Products & Platform team is a multidisciplinary team comprising members from different areas UX Research UX Design User Insights & Analytics Machine Learning Natural Language Processing Secure/Available/Scalable (at AWS scale) services and Web/Mobile/Conversational User Interfaces. Key job responsibilities
As a software engineer on the team:
You will guide our teams technical strategies vision and architecture
You will solve a breadth of technical problems involving backend software engineering and user interface development
You will design and build software that is highly available performant scalable and extensible
You will work with user research and user experience design to build new customer experiences with appealing intuitive interactive and responsive user interfaces

Utility Computing (UC)
AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations from foundational services such as Amazons Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWSs services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization youll support the development and management of Compute Database Storage Internet of Things (Iot) Platform and Productivity Apps services in AWS including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.

5 years of noninternship professional software development experience
2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
Computer Science fundamentals in objectoriented design data structures and algorithms.
Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java C or Python
Experience in machine learning data mining information retrieval statistics or natural language processing
Masters degree in computer science or equivalent
Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle including coding standards software architectures code reviews source control management continuous deployments testing and operational excellence
Strong and creative problemsolving abilities
Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies
Passion for simplicity and building highly leveraged reusable software platforms components and APIs
Excellence in technical communication with peers and nontechnical cohorts.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
