GeoBase Power Platform Developer

Woolpert is hiring a GeoBase Power Platform Developer to join our dynamic Department of the Air Force (DAF) GeoBase Operations team based in San Antonio Texas. This is an onsite role with a schedule of 4 days working at the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) on Lackland Air Force Base and 1 day working remotely. This position reports to the GeoBase Operations Team Leader and is responsible for developing and maintaining applications using Power Apps Power Automate Power BI and SharePoint for the rapidly growing DAF GeoBase program. Roles of the GeoBase Power Platform Developer include designing testing deploying and customizing Power BI dashboards and SharePoint applications in an enterprise environment. Developers will work on a team implementing enterprise capabilities coordinating with program analysts and stakeholders to support capabilities requirements process integration and user training in support of GeoBase program objectives.

Key Responsibilities

As a GeoBase Power Platform Developer at Woolpert you will:

• Develop and maintain applications using Power Apps Power Automate Power BI and SharePoint
• Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and define project scopes
• Analyze charts dashboards and Agile burndowns to extract meaningful insights
• Operate within an Agile framework using Jira/Confluence managing epics to enable client task visibility and project transparency
• Design userfriendly interfaces and ensure application performance and quality
• Integrate data across applications and conduct code automation and dashboard reviews with teammates
• Provide mentorship to junior developers
• Troubleshoot and optimize existing applications for improved efficiency
• Manage access rights and controls providing user support as needed
• Administer integrations with other systems and manage onpremises data gateways
• Develop and customize SharePoint applications workflows and web parts to enhance user experience and functionality
• Integrate multiple data sources for Power BI reports including onpremises and cloud data using Power Query and onpremises data gateways
• Design develop test and deploy Power BI scripts and generate visually appealing and insightful reports.

Power BI Responsibilities

• Create custom visualizations and implement rowlevel security on data
• Build data models and develop dashboards using Power BI Desktop
• Develop tabular and multidimensional models compatible with warehouse standards
• Use advanced level calculations on data sets using DAX functions in Power BI
• Test formulas and visualizations to ensure their functionality
• Document all implemented processes and methodologies
• Incorporate geospatial capabilities using ArcGIS Maps for Power BI to visualize and analyze locationbased data

SharePoint Responsibilities

• Develop and customize SharePoint applications using SharePoint Framework including clientside web parts and extensions
• Create and manage SharePoint workflows using Power Automate and SharePoint Designer
• Utilize REST APIs to integrate SharePoint with other systems
• Design and implement SharePoint site collections libraries lists and content types
• Implement SharePoint solutions for document management collaboration and business process automation
• Ensure SharePoint applications are secure scalable and maintainable
• Provide user training and support for SharePoint applications
• Integrate geolocation features in SharePoint lists using the Geolocation field and Map View

Minimum Requirements

• U.S. citizenship
• Bachelors degree in Data Science or degree with an analytical or statistical background
• Active Tier 1 Investigation (National Agency Check and Inquiries NACI) or security clearance or the ability to pass a Tier 1 Investigation.
  • Willingness to undergo a background check and drug screening
• Two (2) to three (3) years ofexperience developing applications using Power Platform tools
• Proficiency with Power BI Service Administration and experience designing Business Intelligence dashboards
• Ability to interpret relationships in data across multiple sources
• Strong problemsolving abilities and the drive to find solutions:
  • Must provide project examples demonstrating impactful applications dashboards or automations and the problems they solved
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills:
  • Comfortable discussing and presenting projects you have built or led to stakeholders and clients

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with military or defenserelated projects
• Certifications in Power Platform tools or related technologies
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
• Experience with SharePoint Framework (SPFx) REST APIs and Microsoft Graph API
• Proficiency with Power Query M Python R and PowerShell
• Experience with Tableau SQL Azure Blob storage and Advanarelated tools
• Experience with Agile/Scrum processes and tools preferably using Atlassian (Jira Confluence) software
