The Opportunity:
The Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences Office Manager position is responsible for carrying out a full range of complex and confidential administrative responsibilities on behalf of the Department. The position provides support to the Department Chair faculty and staff members including those involved with the Speech Language Pathology Clinic and the Autism Spectrum Disorder Neurodevelopmental Center of Excellence.
As the Office Manager you will primarily be responsible for completing comprehensive administrative and operational responsibilities across the programs described above. Duties include but are not limited to administration of clinical affiliations; providing comprehensive administrative support; maintaining open communication and collaboration among internal and external constituents; assisting in preparation of department and college accreditation applications; preparing correspondence reports annual review and promotion and tenure dossiers and/or presentations; scheduling; making travel arrangements; special event and project coordination/execution; assisting with the preparation of grants/contracts; budget maintenance and assisting in administrative problem solving; correspondence with graduate school. Additionally you will onboard new departmental and program employees liaison with multiple College of Medicine andWSUteams and purchase of departmental supplies and furnishings.

Additional Information:
This is a full time (100% FTE) permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.
Monthly Salary: $3477 to $4632 Step A M Range #40 Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 35728. Step M is typically a longevity step.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110 the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidates current experience education skills and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
High School graduation or equivalentANDthree (3) years of progressively responsible experience in office/clerical secretarial bookkeeping accounting or general administrative work; OR equivalent education/experience.
Additional Requirements:
Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel Outlook and Word.
Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
Strong customer/client/faculty service skills.
Experience with any of the following financial activities: accounts payable accounts receivable budget development/maintenance purchasing travel personnel.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree.
Experience providing administrative support to an individual or group of individuals at the executive senior leadership director and/or manager level.
Experience in the healthcare industry.
Experience assisting in planning and coordinating conferences events workshops etc.
Experience working in the higher education industry.
Demonstrated experience effectively handling confidential and sensitive information.
