Job Description

What is Summit Academy Summit Academy is a small private and therapeutic special education day school off of Salisbury Street in Worcester MA. We currently have a total of 25 students in our school ranging from K through 12th grade. Our student population has diagnoses of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) as well as other related diagnoses. Our school focuses on academics and increasing appropriate social skills while decreasing challenging behaviors. Who are we looking for We are looking for an energetic and dedicated special education teacher to join our Summit family! This teacher will be the classroom teacher of the selfcontained classroom where all subjects will be taught and the students will range from K through 3rd grade. Our School Year Our school year is 198 days (early August through late June) and we offer an optional summer program in July. Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree in Education Masters preferred 1 year of experience in special education education and/or related field Knowledge of and experience with Applied Behavior Analysis preferred Knowledge of IEP goal setting process preferredAbility to apply for Massachusetts teachers certification
