Job Description
Campamento de la Alegra is La Casitas annual summer camp program for schoolaged children. The program is created with Latinx and Immigrant youth in mind. We strive to ensure the youth in our community have access to bilingual culturally meaningful resources celebrations and growth with a broad range of fun activities. We bring art reading science and essential skills to life with virtual and handson learning with the support of bilingual mentors and staff!
Scope of work:
Camp Counselors will be responsible for carrying our camp curriculum providing care for attending campers and leading camp activities throughout the summer for a total of up to one hundred and fifty hours (150). This is a contract position.
Their role will include:
- Inperson support of camp Wednesday and Thursday from June 4th July 24th. Team member should expect to arrive at 9 am and leave after camp at 4 pm.
- Attend regular team meetings prep days and camp wrap up days both virtually and in person
- Support the Coordinator and Team in creating material and food shopping lists as needed
- Engage students by responding to their questions uplifting their work and checking in with students
- Support Camp interns and volunteers as needed
- Other duties as assigned pertaining to the camp (may include supporting with meals menu and grocery list coordination camp setup and cleanup coordination of volunteers and support with virtual content)

Management and supervision: Camp Counselor will report to Children and Youth Enrichment Coordinator
