Job Description

Involves technical acumen for planning designing developing implementing and administering databased systems that acquire prepare store and provide access to data and metadata. Maintains and optimizes systems and migrates data and systems as needed. Ensures integrity and completeness of data and workflow manages and / or develops data practices databases and information systems as well as guidelines dictionaries registries and / or services. May include interpretation of scientific research data artifacts as well as mediation across science and technology domains and longterm data care. As information architect and data steward designs systems data products and / or data production processes while focusing on data curation data exchange data security data integrity and information environments. (Re)evaluates frameworks strategies standards and standardsmaking activities. May involve work with a projectlevel data repository a center or an archive.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $90000$160000(Annual Rate).

  • 5 years of experience in the related fields.
  • Applicants must possess either a doctorate (or near completion) in educational measurement psychometrics industrial/organizational psychology or a closely related field
  • Proven modeling and information design skills.
  • Familiarity with highly complex logical data design and data mapping or data conversion.
  • Advanced knowledge of data management systems practices and standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with others from diverse backgrounds. Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated service orientation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and nontechnical personnel at various levels in the organization.

  • Advanced analytical and design skills including the ability to abstract information requirements from realworld processes to understand information flows in computer systems.
  • Ability to represent relevant information in abstract models. Critical thinking skills and attention to detail.
  • Conduct psychometric analyses in support of a testing program
  • Ability to analyze and research applied measurement problems and to propose solutions to those problems
  • Understanding of concepts central to psychometrics: classical test theory equating and item response theory
  • Experience using opensource statistical analysis software (e.g. R) and version control (e.g. GitHub)
  • Good presentation organizational problemsolving communication and customer service skills with attention to details and deadlines


    • Ability to prepare and understand and model complex knowledgeintensive processes such as scholarly and research processes.
    • Experience in data integration and the specification of data services.
    • Good negotiation and influencing skills.
    • Familiarity with highly complex data quality and governance issues and requirements.
    • Thorough knowledge of relevant rules and regulations.

    The Memory and Aging Center (MAC) is a clinical research unit within the UCSF Department of Neurology that investigates the clinical (neurological cognitive behavioral neuroanatomic) characteristics of various neurodegenerative diseases. The Primary Investigators (PI) research within the MAC focuses on the decisionmaking processes in patients with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) Alzheimers Disease (AD) primary progressive aphasia (PPA) and other neurodegenerative Multitudes Project is part of the Memory and Aging Center (MAC) is the largest division within the Department of Neurology with a diverse workforce of over 260 employees. The Department of Neurology is a teaching research and clinical care unit within the School of Medicine (SOM). The Department of Neurology is a large multisite department with locations including Mission Bay Parnassus Mt. Zion ZSFG VAMC and the Gladstone Institutes and is affiliated with the UCSF Weill Institute for Neurosciences. The department is constructed of 14 administrative divisions with 11 clinical specialties. The department has over 230 faculty and academic employees 290 staff positions and 170 trainees including: residents clinical fellows and postdoctoral scholars.

    The Department has an annual operating budget in excess of $120M and has been the #1 recipient of NIH funding across all U.S. Departments of Neurology for the past 6 consecutive years in addition to being the #1 recipient of philanthropic dollars across all departments at UCSF.
