The Randolph Elementary Music & Performance teacher will facilitate student success in academic and interpersonal skills through academic courses of study and implement district approved curriculum documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific needs of students; providing a safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students parents and administration regarding student progress expectations and ideal candidate will:Collaborate with school personnel parents and various community agencies for the purpose of improving the quality of student outcomes developing solutions and planning a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of equity and appreciation of diversityMaintain classroom managementPromote high standards and expectations for student achievementPlan and deliver effective instructionExecute the subject matter knowledge requirements specific for Music Teachers including:1. Creating varied and engaging music projects and presentations that children in grades K5 can successfully accomplish2. Engaging students through a variety of vocal and instrumental techniques scales sight reading music theory and physical performance3. Instructing students in basic music history by introducing them to wellknown musicians and music movements as well as contemporary musicians and performers for the purpose of building an appreciation for music in the students4. Developing ageappropriate standards based lesson and unit plans for a range of ages grades and student abilities5. Collaborating with general subject teachers and specialist teachers to develop cross disciplinary lesson plans and integrated units that build transfer skills and knowledge in students6. Incorporating traditional and computerbased composition presentation and performance into the classroom7. Inspiring each student to cultivate confidence and skill in a variety of appropriate performance and presentation methodsPerform other duties as deemed appropriate by the Building Principal and/or Department HeadPosition is split between JFK Elementary (4 days) and Donovan Elementary (1 day)
