The Advanced Lead Engineer Electronic Hardware plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of avionics hardware architectures by leveraging cuttingedge technology trends and stateoftheart processor System On Chip (SoC) and FPGA components. This position is integral to influencing hardware designs and supporting new bids and proposals. The role offers a blend of onsite and hybrid work arrangements requiring 23 days in the office each week. An extensive corporate relocation package is available for eligible candidates.
Responsibilities:
Architect avionic hardware systems with digital and analog components.
Maintain expertise in semiconductor processors SystemonChip and FPGA architectures.
Conduct and mentor boardlevel circuit design integration verification and documentation.
Participate in hardware design trade studies reviews and proposals.
Make decisions and solve tasks in hardware design and manufacturing.
Lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements.
Develop persuasion skills to influence others within the field.
Contribute to product design and development including technical improvements.
Plan and execute departmental operations with some autonomy under established policies.
Modify procedures and practices to meet quality volume and timeliness standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited university/college in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 6 years of professional experiences in design.
This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
Desired Characteristics:
Masters degree in Electrical Engineering with 8 years of digital design experience.
Proven history of architecting complex digital hardware.
Experience with Gigahertz microprocessors FPGA CPLD DDR4 memory flash memory and highdensity interconnect technologies.
Knowledge of 5 Gbps serial links CAN MILSTD1553 ARINC standards OpenVPX and PICSIG standards.
Experience in Mil/Aero/avionics DO254 and Civil FAA Certification.
Strong technical writing and communication skills.
Familiarity with Mentor Graphics Expedition Enterprise Hyperlinx PI/SI OrCAD PSPICE LT Spice Mathcad Microsoft Office and Microsoft Visio.
