Summary:
Vighter is recruiting Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to include both emergency medicine experienced Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) to provide onsite emergency department services that meet or exceed the American Academy of Emergency Nurse Practitioners (AAENP) and the Society of Emergency Medicine Physician Assistants (SEMPA) to provide Emergency medical support at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Charlie Norwood VA Health Care System (CNVAHCS). This role involves rapid assessment diagnosis treatment and coordination of care across all age groups often in highpressure and timesensitive situations. The care would be given at the Augusta GA VA a stateoftheart health care facility; and the standard of care shall be of a quality meeting or exceeding all currently recognized national standards.
Principle Accountabilities:
- Evaluate and treat patients presenting with emergent urgent or nonurgent conditions.
- Stabilize and manage patients with lifethreatening conditions such as cardiac arrest stroke or trauma.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as Xrays CT scans EKGs and laboratory results.
- Administer or prescribe medications perform procedures (e.g. intubations suturing splinting central lines).
- Collaborate with nurses specialists and hospital staff to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Document clinical findings diagnoses treatment plans and patient progress clearly and accurately in the EMR.
- Communicate effectively with patients and families about diagnoses treatment options and care plans.
- Refer patients for admission or specialist care when necessary.
- Participate in department quality assurance peer review and continuing medical education.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Must have exceptional customer service skills.
- Employees shall be technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the job requirements including ability to speak understand read and write English fluently.
- Ability to work in a fastpaced changing environment with limited supervision
- Excellent organizational scheduling and prioritization skills.
Education:
- Valid license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Currently certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through programs approved by VA Resuscitation Education Initiative (REdI) per VHA directive 1177.
- All continuing education courses required for maintaining certification must be kept up to date at all times.
Qualifications:
- A Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant assigned by the Contractor to perform the services covered by this contract shall have a current license to practice medicine consistent with his or her training and professional designation in any State Territory or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia when services are performed onsite on VA property.
- Physician Assistants must have a license in the same state as the supervising physician. All licenses held by the personnel working on this contract shall be full and unrestricted licenses.
- The contractors Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants who have current full and unrestricted licenses in one or more states but who have or who have ever had a license restricted suspended revoked voluntarily revoked voluntarily surrendered pending action or denied upon application will not be considered for the purposes of this contract.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols and procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fastpaced environment.
Duty Hours / Oncall Requirements:
- The expected duty hours for this position are 8 hours per day and 5 days per week. However this key position supporting 24/7/365 operations which will require rotating work schedules to be conducted in the day at night on weekends and during holidays.

Travel:
- As required to satisfy the contractual obligations. Commute is noncompensatory. All official travel is government funded.

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to sit or stand for more than 8 hours per day must be willing to work overtime if necessary.
- Must be able to use an elevator or walk up and down stairs.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and carry up to 10 feet.
- Must be able to routinely grasp or handle objects use finger dexterity bend elbows/knees and reach above and below shoulders.
- Must be able to read and interpret handwritten and typewritten print.
- Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
- Must be able to perform duties in an indoor or outdoor environment
- Must undergo Urine Drug Screening (UDS).
