Temporary Hourly - Part Time Driver, NNIC

The University of Nevada Renos Northern Nevada International Center (NNIC) has expanded its scope of services and is seeing a return of heavy inperson programming through the International Visitor Leadership Program/Exchanges Division. The NNIC is seeking to hire a temporary hourly parttime driver needed for shortterm NNIC International Exchange and Refugee Resettlement Programs. This position would be summer work now through August.

Responsibilities

• Driving US Department of State delegations or Refugee Program clients to local and regional appointments site visits and home host receptions in NNIC shuttle buses or vans

• Communicating w/Program and Transportation Managers in realtime to address any program changes participant needs or vehicle / maintenance issues

• NNIC Driver is expected to properly fuel the vehicles before or after time with the group and clean interior/exteriors as needed

• May need to assist with loading/unloading luggage for Exchange program delegates to and from the airport and hotels

• Occasionally may need to help with NNIC Box Truck donations

Required Qualifications

• Candidate must have a Clean Driving Record

• Candidate must have a valid drivers license

• Candidate must be able to drive a large SUV passenger van and/or box truck; Must be comfortable driving 12passenger vans

• Candidate must have the ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted

• Candidate must have the ability to continuously sit for extended periods of time

• Candidate must have the ability to drive in variable situations due to weather

Pursuant to NRS 284.4066 this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a preemployment screening for controlled substances .

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of the areas points of interest is valuable

• Commercial Drivers License is not required

Compensation Grade

Temporary Hourly

$16.00/hr

A background check will be conducted on the candidate(s) selected for hire.

HR will attempt to verify academic credentials upon receipt of hiring documents. If the academic credentials cannot be verified HR will notify the faculty member that an official transcript of their highest degree must be submitted within thirty days of the faculty members first day of employment.
