The Opportunity
We are looking for Instructors to teach the Electrical Apprenticeship and preemployment electrician program. Teaching this program requiresindepth knowledge of electrical theory code and current residential and commercial trade practices. As part of our team you are encouraged to be bold and inventive bringing new ideas to the table.
Note: SAIT as a postsecondary institution serves a diverse student population. Therefore instructional duties may occasionally be required during early mornings evenings and weekends. If selected specific scheduling arrangements will be discussed between you and the leader.
The Role
Prepare for classes prior to delivery
Develop quality presentations for students
Attend all SAIT training as required
Achievement of School initiatives and Objectives
Provide accurate and up to date reporting of student marks
Willing to take on additional responsibilities as required per the position
Be an active and engaged member of the School
Adhere to all safety legislation guidelines and safety standards as required
Maintain contact with industry sectors to assure technology is relevant
All other duties as required for the position.
Qualifications & Experience
Red Seal Electrician certification required
Master Electrician Certification preferred.
Prior teaching experience in the electrical trades would be an asset
Five years of field experience as a Journeyperson Electrician is preferred
A university degree would be an asset
Fluent in English reading and vocabulary
Comfortable speaking to the public
Positive & respectful attitude
Basic level of Proficiency working in Word Excel PowerPoint& Outlook
Ability to read interpret and deliver specific curriculum
