We are seeking:

Catering Supervisor

For the following vacancy we are looking for a confident and committed individual who is passionate about the opportunities this role may bring.

Responsible for the support and supervision of all catering outlets in a fast paced environment situated in a prime location on Bournemouth seafront.

Roles & Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assisting the Catering Manager with the smooth efficient and profitable operation of the catering outlet within the Oceanarium Bournemouth.
  • Assist the Catering Manager with the continuous delivery of a high degree of product quality and service within the catering outlet.
  • Assist the Catering Manager with the adherence to all Food Hygiene and Health & Safety regulations.
  • Manage the team of staff when solely on shift ensuring the professional and efficient operation of the catering outlet whilst on duty.

OPERATIONS

  • Responsible for the ordering preparation presentation and efficient delivery of high quality fresh and appetising food for the catering outlet.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the catering outlet is appropriately stocked in line with the current level of business and is ready for opening at the agreed time and kept replenished with stock and consumables throughout the day.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the catering outlet is maintained in a clean and hygienic condition throughout the day and that official close down procedures are adhered to.
  • Assist with delivery of the highest levels of customer service at all times with reference to communication waiting times ambience and welcome and quality of product.
  • Comply with all current licensing restrictions in respect to the correct supply and sales of alcohol.
  • Ensure that the front counter is organised in a professional manner delivering short queue times quality hot and cold drinks and readymade products and understandable communication to the kitchen.

MANAGING STAFF

  • In liaison with the Catering Manager the monitoring of staff appearance conduct efficiency and welfare including lunch and tea breaks.
  • Whilst solely on shift compiling and managing break rotas ensuring all staff receive adequate breaks (in line with Company Policy) and that all areas of the caf are appropriately manned at the correct levels.
  • Assist with the induction and training of all new caf staff members.
  • Whilst solely on shift manage the conduct welfare safety and efficiency of all catering members of staff on duty.

FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION

  • Correctly deal with orders delivery notes and invoices in preparation for the processing by the Catering Manager
  • Assist with the control and correct rotation of all stock as per the guidelines laid down in the site operations manual.
  • Assist with the physical stock take at the week/month end in order to produce an accurate stock valuation figure for the Catering Manager.
  • Ensure that the highest standards of accurate and efficient cash handling procedures are adopted whilst on duty.
  • Handle customer catering enquiries and complaints in a positive and constructive manner whilst on duty.
  • Monitor wastage ensuring control measures are followed for the minimisation of waste.

HEALTH & SAFETY

  • Monitor all refrigerators and freezers and all hot display units ensuring that they are maintained within the necessary temperature parameters keeping records and taking necessary action where required.
  • Oversee cleaning procedures to ensure that all catering staff use chemicals and cleaning products in a safe manner.
  • Assist with ensuring that all Health & Hygiene Health and Safety and COSHH regulations are observed and records are maintained.
  • Ensure that the caf seating areas inside and out are regularly cleared cleaned and swept throughout the day.
  • Ensure the food preparation and storage areas are kept constantly clean throughout the day.
  • Ensure the cleaning rota is adhered to and all tasks carried out on a regular basis.
  • Ensure all furniture is stored securely and safely.
