Shkaabe Makwa at CAMH is the first hospitalbased Centre in Canada designed to drive culturallyresponsive systems initiatives to achieve health justice and wellness for First Nations Inuit and Mtis through the advancement of research workforce development and innovative healing models that harmonize traditional knowledge and medical expertise.
Position Description:
Shkaabe Makwa is seeking a fulltime permanent Senior Health Policy Analyst to provide leadership advice and expertise in the development and analysis of policies and procedures that enable accessible high quality and culturally safe care for First Nations Inuit and Mtis patients at CAMH. Working in close collaboration with colleagues from across the hospital including the Clinical Care Pharmacy and Therapeutics and Operations Policy Committees the successful candidate will lead the review of CAMHs internal policies by applying Indigenous cultural safety antiracism and antioppressive lenses. The Senior Health Policy Analyst will act as a senior project resource on assigned initiatives and will represent Shkaabe Makwa on organizationalwide committees to ensure the perspectives and needs of First Nations Inuit and Mtis staff patients and families are included. This role will also keep abreast of public policies that affect First Nations Inuit and Mtis health and wellness and contribute to organizational policy projects.
