Job Title: Blended Learning Specialist Wage/Hour Status: Exempt
Reports to: Blended Learning Coordinator Pay Grade: Teacher Pay Step
Dept./School: Digital Learning Days: 207
Primary Purpose: To assist the blended learning coordinator with the implementation of district blended learning initiatives that include but not limited to: state grant supported opportunities district strategic planning and staff professional development.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelors degree in education or a related field
Masters degree (preferred)
Valid Texas Teaching Certification
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Maintain the communication/feedback process with campuses that have established blended learning via district supported grants (Hays Pease W&Y Bowie LBJ)
Assist BLC in identifying unique academic needs of schools and collaborate with departments to adapt programs accordingly (learning laps c&i meetings DL meetings PLCs)
Support the implementation of district strategic plan to systematize blended learning
Establish strong relationships with key school staff that maximize their investment and blended learning implementation (learning laps PLCs weekly campus visits)
Collaborate with BLC and onsite staff to identify professional development areas of need with blended learning implementation and design measurable goals for growth in these areas to continue driving district initiatives
Checkin weekly with BLC to discuss progress for implementation of blended learning
Support district level blended learning professional development opportunities and participant completion (UTeach Asynchronous course work in schoology book studies)
Build strong relationships with school leaders and teachers to engage schools as key partners in increasing student achievement and engagement
Experience:
Minimum of five years of instructional experience grades K12
Successful experience of blended learning implementation in the classroom
Design and delivery of professional learning preferred
Special Knowledge and Skills:
Strong communication & interpersonal skills
The ability and reliability to function well in a team environment
Ability to speak publicly and present professional learning to district staff
Willingness to experience new learning and take risks to grow
