Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to lead the design development and standardization of APIs within a secure and scalable enterprise architecture. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in modern API architecturesincluding RESTful SOAP and GraphQLas well as in implementing API security and governance best practices. This role will support largescale system integration efforts in a highsecurity environment and contribute to the advancement of enterprisewide development standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops deploys and maintains missioncritical enterprise applications throughout the full software development lifecycle including analysis design coding testing deployment and operational support.
- Designs and implements cloudbased applications using AWS services such as EC2 Lambda RDS and DynamoDB ensuring scalability security and high availability.
- Builds and optimizes frontend applications delivering responsive and userfriendly interfaces tailored to business needs.
- Manages version control development workflows and CI/CD pipelines using Atlassian tools like Bitbucket and Jira to enable rapid dependable deployments.
- Applies Agile development principles within the SAFe framework engaging in iterative development cycles backlog prioritization and adaptive planning.
- Conducts rigorous unit testing integration testing and automated deployment processes to ensure application quality reliability and security compliance.
- Performs ongoing application maintenance including monitoring system performance responding to incidents and implementing patches and security updates.
- Develops and maintains databases within an application environment ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval for largescale applications.
- Designs customizes and optimizes software solutions to enhance operational efficiency integrating thirdparty components and automating maintenance tasks.
- Collaborates with crossfunctional teams to define technical requirements participate in architecture reviews and deliver highquality software solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Experience working in an Agile organization using Scrum Kanban Jira Confluence and SAFe.
- Provide team specific training as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience designing developing and standardizing APIs with a focus on RESTful SOAP and GraphQL API architectures.
- Indepth knowledge of API security principles (e.g. OAuth JWT OpenID Connect) and industry standards for secure API development and governance.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in software development with a strong background in objectoriented programming data structures and algorithms with proficiency in languages such as Java Python or Golang.
- Experience with API management tools such as AWS API Gateway including the ability to define and enforce API standards for largescale enterprise systems.
- Demonstrated 2 years of experience in leading crossfunctional teams collaborating with business and technical stakeholders and driving the adoption of API standards across diverse teams and systems in a large organization.
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Information Systems Data Engineering or a related field (preferred).
- Active Secret or Top Secret clearance is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working within federal government defense or national security programs.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins GitLab CI Terraform).
- Certifications in AWS Google Cloud or other cloudnative development environments.
