Job Description

Or completion of associate core program in computer science or information systems; 30 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: designing and performing systems analysis developing and/or modifying programs for computer applications recommending application solutions and/or testing and correcting programs as it relates to testing and implementation and assisting with documentation including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology as specified by the agency position description & job posting.

Or completion of undergraduate core program in computer science or information systems; 24 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: designing and performing systems analysis developing and/or modifying programs for computer applications recommending application solutions and/or testing and correcting programs as it relates to testing and implementation and assisting with documentation including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology as specified by the agency position description & job posting.

Skill in: Web security testing and test planning for all types of BWC accounts and security concerns. Experience with Microsoft DevOPs from a testing perspective. Creating test cases execution of test cases reporting and creation and life cycle of defects. Reading comprehension speaking service orientation troubleshooting critical thinking complex problem solving lead work programming software testing; analysis and evaluation using data recovery tools and techniques judgment and decision making assuring quality identifying and specifying business requirements and developing and interpreting policy and strategies governing the planning and delivery of IT services.

Ability to: stay abreast of current technologies in area of IT assigned deal with problems involving several variables in familiar context define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions prepare meaningful accurate and concise reports and provide expert technical advice guidance and recommendations to management and other technical specialists on critical IT issues.

BWCs core hours of operation are MondayFriday from 8:00am to 5:00pm however daily start/end times may vary based on operational need across BWC departments. Most positions perform work onsite at one of BWCs seven offices across the state. BWC offers flextime work schedules that allow an employee to start the day as early as 7:00am or as late as 8:30am. Flextime schedules are based on operational need and require supervisor approval.

What Youll Be Doing:

Assisting in supporting user acceptance testing.

o Creating detailed test designs & test plans.

o Creating & reviewing test data.

o Coordinating execution of test scripts.

o Coordinating debugging efforts & defect tracking.

o Coordinating support of user acceptance testing.

o Coordinating software implementation & deployment tasks performs performance & load testing).

Web security testing and test planning for all types of BWC accounts and security concerns.

Experience with Microsoft DevOPs from a testing perspective.

Create and report on the test results from all automation testing.

Assists with testing implementation and monitoring IT quality assurance standards.

Works with the PMO to finalizes implementation of plans procedures and schedules; conducts lessons learned from a testing perspective.

Coordinates improvements to enterprise testing processes; understands technical environments.

BWC OCSEA Selection Rights:
This position shall be filled in accordance with the provisions of the OCSEA Collective Bargaining Agreement. BWC bargaining unit members have selection rights before nonbargaining unit members. All other applications will only be considered if an internal bargaining unit applicant is not selected for this position.

Salary Information:
Hourly wage is expected to be paid at step 1 of the pay range associated with the position for candidates who are new employees of the state. Current employees of the state will be placed in the appropriate step based on any applicable union contract and/or requirements of the Ohio Revised Code. Movement to the next step of the pay range (a roughly 4% increase) will occur after six months assuming job performance is acceptable. Thereafter an employee will advance one step in the pay range every year until the highest step of the pay range is reached. There may also be possible cost of living adjustments (COLA) and longevity supplements begin after five (5) years of state service.
