Working directly with the Collectibles Data Publishing Manager the Junior Market Analyst will assist with the creation maintenance and growth of the Beckett Sports Card Database. This includes researching and adding new products gathering secondary market sales information on new and existing products analyzing market data keeping the Beckett Sports Online Price Guide uptodate and accurate in relation to the market and sports image database work. Additionally the Junior Market Analyst will collaborate with the editorial team to develop and implement affiliate links for new and existing online content.
Responsibilities
- Help gather a checklist image and product information for all new sports card products for database purposes.
- Help with data entry market information gathering and the pricing process for new and existing sports cards.
- Review and update sports card data in the Beckett Database including but not limited to card numbers team names card descriptions and attributes.
- Special sport cardrelated Online Price Guide (OPG) projects as needed.
- May be asked to assist the Product and Marketing teams with Becketts OPG business development.
- Support any adhoc departmental projects as required.
Skills and Requirements
- Sports card subject matter expert with an emphasis on new card products including but not limited to products produced by Topps Panini Upper Deck and Leaf.
- Strong general knowledge of the sports card hobby and collecting trends in the market.
- Strong general knowledge of sports card hobby websites influencers software and mobile apps within the collectibles industry.
- Strong computer skills with the ability and willingness to learn Becketts proprietary Price Guide Software and other internal software applications. Familiarity with productivity tools like Notion JIRA or Trello is a plus.
- Ability and knowledge on how to search for specific cards and products on secondary market websites such as eBay and major auctions houses.
- High school diploma or to work crossfunctionally with teams and coordinate work efforts
- Attention to detail and organizational skills are a must
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with data tools like Excel (pivot tables) SQL Tableau or Google Data Studio for analyzing market trends.
- Familiarity with ecommerce and secondary market platforms (eBay COMC major auction houses) and how they affect trading card valuations.
