Job Description

Position Profile


The Administrative Office of the Courts is seeking a dynamic and experienced Internal Communications Officer and Social Media Lead to develop implement and manage communication strategies that enhance engagement both externally and internally. This role is responsible for overseeing the agencys digital presence ensuring accurate and transparent public communication while fostering a wellinformed and connected internal workforce.


Working under general direction from the Associate Director of Communications and Public Outreach this is a professional level position that consistently applies independent judgment in assigned area of expertise and exercises decision making authority as delegated. Interacts regularly with the State Court Administrator and Human Resources to inform and connect AOCs workforce.

Salary: Range 60: $67716 $88800 per year (DOQ).

WASHINGTON STATE RESIDENCY AND TELEWORK INFORMATION


AOC requires employees to reside in Washington State. Any exceptions must be approved. If you are invited to interview and currently reside outside of Washington State seek more information about residency requirements from the AOC hiring manager for this recruitment.


This position requires you to be in the office at least two (2) days per week.

Duties and Responsibilities


Some of the duties you will perform are:


  • External Communications & Social Media.
  • Develop and execute social media strategies aligned with communication objectives.
  • Manage and maintain official social media accounts ensuring compliance with policies and best practices.
  • Create engaging content including graphics videos and posts to inform and engage the public.
  • Monitor social media channels for public inquiries trends and emerging issues responding appropriately.
  • Collaborate with public affairs and press teams to coordinate messaging and crisis communication.
  • Track and analyze social media metrics to optimize content performance and outreach.


Internal Communications

  • Develop and implement internal communication plans to enhance employee engagement.
  • Manage internal communication platforms.
  • Craft clear and consistent messaging to ensure employees are informed of agency policies initiatives and updates.
  • Work with leadership to communicate organizational goals culture and values effectively.
  • Organize internal events and campaigns to boost workplace collaboration.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications and Credentials



  • Bachelors degree in journalism public relations communications English or related field


AND

  • Ten (10) years of experience in journalism public information public relations or technical writing


Relevant work experience may substitute for education on a year for year basis.


THE IDEAL APPLICANT WILL ALSO HAVE SOME OR ALL OF THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE EDUCATION KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES


Preferred

  • Experience in government public service or nonprofit sector.
  • Familiarity with crisis communication and media relations.
  • Knowledge of employee engagement strategies and change management communications.
  • Basic graphic design or video editing skills (e.g. Adobe Suite).

  • The workweek may fluctuate depending on workload or agency needs.
  • Overnight travel may be required based on business needs.
  • This position may beovertime eligible.
